Why do MAGA folks dislike liberals? One reason is the perception that “libs†are a bunch of smarty-pants know-it-alls. Another is that liberals have an annoying habit of hearing an outrageous claim and then asking, “What is the evidence?â€
Examples abound. When a nameless, faceless person known as “Q†claimed to be a government insider who was “on to†a ring of child sex trafficking, did the libs immediately commence the hard work of protecting defenseless children? No. Instead, they had the gall to ask, “What is the evidence?†They even asked for proof that Q was a real person. It turned out he wasn’t, but you get the picture, they were more concerned about first establishing whether the assertion was true than in taking action to stop a fictional child sex ring.
Then there is the fact that liberals want to take away our freedoms, like the freedom to play virus roulette with school kids. Fortunately, President Donald Trump’s base has heroes like Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and West Virginia’s Governor Patrick Morrisey who have emerged to fight back against the libs’ insistence that COVID, polio and the black death are bad.
It was only last week that we learned that Mr. Kennedy removed $500 million from 22 vaccination development projects because, he said, mNRA vaccines don’t stop upper respiratory viruses. Wasn’t it just like liberals and scientists and the rest of the fact-based world to immediately cite a study published last month by the Journal of the American Medical Association which estimated that 2.5 million deaths were averted by the COVID vaccine? “They†were at it again, deploying weapons like data and a “study.â€
Many were outraged at laws preventing the sale of raw milk in our grocery stores. Unpasteurized milk is dangerous and had to be outlawed, medical experts said. Now, however, conservative legislators are reversing the bans. Some of us will recall a few years ago when several West Virginia lawmakers bravely stood their ground, defiantly swigging the stuff in the legislative chambers. True, they all got sick. And, yes, statehouse custodians had some additional cleanup chores. But, as students of history will attest, our freedoms have costs. And if occasional outbreaks of reverse peristalsis must be endured in the name of liberty, so be it.
Trump is the human epicenter in the fight against communist liberals. Only this week we learned that his EPA has cut off $106.1 million for West Virginia. The cash had been targeted for a single socialistic purpose, to put solar panels on the homes of low-income and disadvantaged residents. Yes, the recipients would have saved hundreds of dollars a year on their power bills, but it was part of Joe Biden’s Solar for All attempt to enslave Americans. Enough said.
Then there are the closeted progressive economists. They base their projections on muddlements, like graphs and shopping. They say that Trump’s tariffs are going to increase the costs of Americans’ purchases by an average of 18.6%. (Even the president himself said that we all may suffer increased prices. For a while, he added.) So what?! Higher prices, like drinking raw milk, are what keep us free.
The president’s base sticks with him, in part, because, just like them, he has seen himself through tough times. He, too, has endured hardscrabble difficulties. The base hasn’t forgotten how he has survived the failures of Trump casinos, Trump Shuttle (his airline), Trump steaks, Trump University, Trump vodka, Trump Mortgage Services, GoTrump travel and more. He even survived $450 million in penalties for defrauding New York banks by intentionally overestimating the value of his collateral. And he endured conviction on 34 felonies in the Stormy Daniels business “arrangement.†Troubles by the score. Yet there he stands, tall, proud, unashamed.
And liberals wonder why they are disliked by MAGA.
